Road Trip Tip #3

Don’t pour piping hot tea from a Thermos while operating large machinery, such as a Honda Element.

Yes, I learned that one the hard way last night. Was rolling West along Interstate 10 into Lafayette, Louisiana, when I suddenly felt the need for a little pick-me-up. I decided a quick shot of hot tea would perk me up.

That stretch of I-10 is somewhat rough n’ tumble. So, I took special care in aiming the Thermos prior to the pour. Just as the hot tea dove out of the Thermon, my cup was plunged into the darkness of the night as the Thermos eclipsed the overhead light.

Then, the hot liquid hit me! The resulting slo-mo memory made it seem like an eternity for me to process the recent events and make the necessary corrective actions.

Ouch. At least, I was now awake.

Luckily, the tea was brewed earlier in the morning. Still hot, but not fresh from a boil.

Personally, I hope that no physical damage was done to any affected areas and that there will not be any legal charges brought against the thermos company, the Honda corporation or the great state of Louisiana.

Wendy > You’re right. It was India Breakfast Tea. Perhaps, should go after the great country of India?!!

Don’t think I’ll ever get over that woman suing McDonald’s after pouring hot coffee in her lap.
