What In The World?
Shamrock, Texas. What in the world is this thing? It does overshadow the house and fills the yard. Any thoughts?

Do you know what they grow in Shamrock? Will probably help figure it out.
Susan > My guess would be cotton, but the contraption continues to confound.
It’s “Just a Love Machine and it Won’t Work for Nobody but You!” I think it was made by WHAM!
Susan > Will be interested to hear his point of view.
Wendy > Very funny! I hope that isn’t what this is… because, we’re all too late. Looks like it will no longer work for anyone, anymore.
I did not know that one must take age into account when determing whether or not something is a love machine. Age was irrelative to me but I guess if you say so!
No doubt it’s a time machine! ![]()
There might be something to that time machine thing, Francoi. It could be the box that the De Lorean came in!
Maybe it’s something spooky strange, like the mythical Machine of Perpetual Motion. Someone made it, it worked, they realised the world wanted it and got scared, so sabotaged it in order to go back to a life of quiet and unassuming hermitude…
Ahem. Okay, so it’s as good a story as any. And the Machine of Perpetual Motion is a ‘real’ thing in so far as folks pop up every now and then claiming they’ve made one…. x
It’s either a vintage “Old House Eater” or maybe a Texas self propelled lawn mower ? (Or Both). Can’t believe you didn’t recognize this.
Franciov > A time machine?!! Any suggestions on where I could find the flux capacitor?
Andy > Then, it would seem that this one of those previous failed attempts at creating a Machine of Perpetual Motion.
This one stopped dead in its track some time ago.
John > I sure could use a self-propelled lawn mower… but, I’m unsure where I’d keep one of these.
From the looks of things, I guess I’d park it on the front lawn.
It is a piece of old farm equipment. Maybe a baler . Will ask my Father. He should know.
