Praise of The Pinons

Praise of The Pinyons

Buena Vista, Colorado. While I missed the falling satellite (or, shooting star), the surrounding pinon trees enjoyed every bit of the show.

Here they are seemingly giving a standing ovation from their skybox.

It’s absolutely wonderful.

All your photos are great, you’re very good at that, I like the shooting star too, maybe we could make a wish just looking at the picture?

Ahhhh, kind of makes me homesick.

My mom and I used to collect pine nuts from the pinion trees in Arizona. I love pine nuts. :)

I love the contrast between the trees and the night sky. Everytime I take a pictuure at night it looks this good!! …in my dreams!

Tad > It is a fish-eye shot. While the hill had a subtle curvature, used the fish-eye to accentuate it. Thank you for your kind comment.

Beth Ellen > Oh, that sounds tasty. Did you toast them? I love toasted pine nuts! :-D Thanks for taking for a ride down memory lane.

No, just ate them raw but am sure they are good toasted too. :)

Wendy1 > Thank you! Shooting stars are the best! I was amazed when I reviewed the shots. I hope it was a shooting star, but upon closer inspection it appears to be a satellite.

Let’s hope it’s a star. Everyone make a wish!

Thank you, again.

Pearl > It truly was. Pleased to report the arrival of the sun did not change the tranquil mood.
