Now, That’s A Hot Pair of Legs!

Mexia, Texas - Famed Home of Anna Nicole Smith. Driving around looking for “signs,” I noticed that most of the town either was lined up at or trying to enter the parking lot of Jim’s Krispy Chicken and Homemade Yeast Rolls.

This wasn’t the sign I was looking for, but it was a good sign.. the best of signs!

I jumped into the feeding frenzy and was soon stunned by a culinary delight of crispiness! Oh, the chicken was soooo good!! As I gobbled up some of the world’s best fried chicken, I could not help but wonder, “Had Anna Nicole ever been here? Surely, she had. Everybody in the town is here tonight!” After doing a little research…

Turns out that Anna Nicole was a waitress at Jim’s Krispy Fried Chicken. In fact, Jim’s Krispy Fried Chicken is responsible for Anna Nicole’s first love connection of great consequence with then 17-year-old, fry cook Billy Smith. They married and had a baby.

While Hollywood wonders have started here, I wasn’t the mood to make a scene so the camera gear was back in the car. After eating, I ordered a hot, crispy pair of legs and walked them outside for a little photo session on top of the fridge/freezer.

If you are ever anywhere near Mexia, Texas, it’s worth the road trip. Get yourself some of Jim’s Krispy Fried Chicken & Homemade Yeast Rolls.

Hmmmm… We normally order 2 legs or a couple of legs. Shouldn’t the order be for a pair of legs? Why is that?

I’m bummed your not coming here. I thought we could do Whole Foods together. LOL

I love the Car navigation icon. There is a car like yours in my neighborhood. I almost wave at the woman driving it all the time.

Your a Southern boy who drove to Texas for some Chicken Legs. Now that’s sad. LOL

Be safe…

Lora > They have chicken like this at Whole Foods?!! Actually, I love that place. Would have been fun. In fact, I just bought a bunch of seeds & nuts at Wild Oats.

I’m glad to hear you dig the car compass. You should wave to her. Just don’t call her “Josh.” ;-)

Good point. There must be great fried chickens roaming around Atlanta.

I do hope to hit Austin some day soon!
